In 1966, a group of robbers broke into Dulwich Picture Gallery and stole nine paintings, among them three Rembrandts and a drawing by Rubens. The theft made headlines and got a lot of publicity. It probably spooked the the thieves, as not long after some of the paintings were deserted in a bush and were found by me a men who walked his dog. The rest of the paintings were found later in a cemetery near by.
