About the artist:
Born in 1909 in Lithuania.
In 1925 he studied at the School of Art in Kaunas.
Moved to Israel in 1929. During the first years the country was a member of Kibbutz Beit Zera. In 1932 he moved to Tel Aviv and worked for two years in the studio of Joseph Zaritsky.
His early paintings are naive – Eastern. Later influenced by Marcel Janco He moved to modernism. Abramovich painted with different techniques, works on paper, drawings, and watercolors. Works on paper is able to deal with forms and new means of expression, showing a master of color and composition, but also a master of drawing
Was one of the founders of the New Horizons group.
Was secretary of the group throughout the years of its existence (1948 – 1963).
In 1952-1972 he taught painting at seminar Hakibbutzim. And was chairman of the Painters and Sculptors Association branch in Tel Aviv in 1981 to 1984.
Affiliated with a modest artists in Israel is considered one of the most prominent among the original members of the group known New Horizons group.
