About the artist:
Milia Laufer was a Romanian Jewish artist who painted traditional landscapes and still lifes in soft, cheerful colours.
She studied at the Art School of Cernowitz before moving to Israel and studying with the acclaimed aquarellist Tadeus Rychter. His influence is apparent in her delicate and careful watercolors and oils. She was a significant constituent in Safed´s artist quarter where she worked from 1951 until she died.
